About the Randolph County Historic Landmarks Commission
The Elkins Historic Landmarks Commission works to promote and enhance the preservation of historic artifacts and provides planning and technical assistance for the identification, certification and preservation of Elkins’ historic sites. The commission includes five volunteer members who are appointed by the Mayor of Elkins. The commission serves the City of Elkins by providing local leadership, education, governance and advocacy to preserve our historic places and revitalize our community. The commission also offers a Resource Library with various local books and documents for historic research. The library is open to the public but available by appointment only. Please email the commission to schedule a visit.
Meeting Information
The Historic Landmarks Commission meets the second Tuesday of each month at 5:00pm in the Darden House (421 Davis Avenue in Downtown Elkins). All meetings are open to the public and agendas can be found in advance here.
